Chart of accounts
Organize the ledger into assets, liabilities, equity, income, cost, and expenses.
Open Finance or Accounting → Chart of Accounts. Review parent accounts and create postable sub-accounts under the correct accounting domain. Parent summary accounts should not receive direct postings. New financial entities such as banks, cash accounts, customers, suppliers, and expense categories must be linked to an appropriate postable account.
Do not rename or repurpose an account that is referenced by historical postings without an approved accounting plan.
