Multi-warehouse stock transfers and in-transit tracking
Transfer inventory between physical branches with dispatch, in-transit custody, and destination receipt.
Safely move products between branches, central warehouses, and retail stores.
1. Initiate Transfer: Go to Inventory → Stock Transfers → Add. Select the Source Warehouse, Destination Warehouse, transfer date, and line items with quantities.
2. Dispatch from Source: When goods leave the sending warehouse, mark the transfer as 'Dispatched'. Quantities leave source stock and enter the 'In-Transit' intermediate state.
3. Transit Custody: In-transit inventory remains tracked on valuation reports but cannot be sold or allocated at the destination.
4. Destination Receipt: When goods arrive at the destination, the warehouse manager counts received quantities, logs any transit damages or discrepancies, and marks the transfer as 'Received'. Stock is immediately available for local sales.
